Life can sometimes feel like we are in the middle of a storm.

Sometimes we feel scared, sad or alone.

What do you do when you feel like this?

The exciting, new ‘Stay and Play Service’, hosted at St. John’s Church Hall, Pilling for all under-fives and their grown-ups, welcomed thirteen families on the first Saturday in Lent.  Everyone tucked in to a lovely 5     breakfast together and enjoyed some time playing with toys before listening to a story about Jesus calming a storm.  This was followed by chatting about how we can ask Him to still the storms in and around us.

The little ones made some impressive glittery ‘storms in a bottle’, something to shake when feeling overwhelmed, yucky or sad…something to help them remember that Jesus is with us and we can hear His voice encouraging, “Be Still”.

Crafting activities provided an opportunity to explore the story further for all age groups and of course, there was plenty of enthusiastic singing!  Hot drinks for adults and the chance to spend precious time alongside other families with young children, helped to make the morning a wonderful experience for all involved.

The ‘Stay and Play Service’ will run from 9.30am each Saturday throughout Lent, at St. John’s Church Hall Pilling, finishing on 9th April 2022.

(All ages are welcome, especially older siblings)
